Don't read if you're on my Gift List!

Here are a few things I'm making as Christmas gifts, in case anyone is looking for ideas of their own:

--legwarmers (lots of free patterns online, but I'm using Sally Melville's pattern)
--purses: I like this pattern as well as this cable clutch
--Convertible shrugs--the pattern is from Ruth, a customer at Threaded Bliss Yarns and is as follows: I used Noro Silk Garden (3 skeins). CO 54 on size 15 needles. Gauge is not really important. Measure from one wrist to the other (across shoulders) Feather and fan pattern until piece reaches desired length. If you need more give in the shoulders (for broader shouldered women), gradually go up 3 needle sizes as you reach the should area. Now, this is convertible b/c you'll add ties (either single strands of the yarn, or make a crochet chain) along the arm part. I'll try to draw a schematic if anyone wants it.

Feather and Fan pattern: Row 1: Knit; Row 2: Purl; Row 3 * (k2 tog) 3 times, (yo, k1) 6 times, (k2 tog) 3 times, rep from *

For MB's, I used Bling Bling, Quest (brown), Checkmate, Nobile, Soiree, Quest (black). The black Quest was done in garter stitch to give her more stretch across the shoulders, then I reversed the order so that the arms match.

--Socks
--Hand mitts (Last Minute Knitted Gifts and Weekend Knits patterns)
--Bubby bear

If you've got a great pattern you're using for holiday gifts, I'd love to hear about it.
